3 Contact Hours -- NCSAPPB approved substance abuse specific (SS) and nicotine dependence (ND)
Cigarette smoking and tobacco use have always been difficult issues to address with our clients. However, we know that statistically an individual with an addictive or mental disorder is more likely to die from health problems associated with tobacco use than their primary drug of choice or mental disorder. Additionally, individuals who quit smoking in early recovery have a better chance of maintaining long-term sobriety. Knowing this, are we professionally negligent if we don't address and treat nicotine addiction? Come to the workshop and find out.
All attendees will receive a high quality PowerPoint presentation that you can use with your clients and to facilitate groups. It is a brief intervention for nicotine addiction using a motivational interviewing framework. A discussion of how to best use the presentation with your clients will be held in the training.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Presented by John Sanders, MSW, LCSWA, LCAS, CSI
