6 contact hours - NCSAPPB approved substance abuse specific (SS), evidence-based treatment (EBT) + NBCC approved provider

Workshop participants will learn and develop skills in basic cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). We will examine several evidenced based curriculum (DBT, Seeking Safety, Matrix) that utilize CBT and what makes them effective. We will explore not only client beliefs but those beliefs and behaviors that families and our society embraces,  leading and supporting ongoing addiction to the many types: substance, shopping, gambling, gaming, sexual, and eating disorders. This is a hands on workshop so be prepared to do small group work in developing your CBT skills.

This workshop will use both dual diagnosis and SA case studies for practicing counselor skills.
